Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on November 22, 1985 in New York City New York) has received acclaim for her ability to act across different various genres from the period dramas through thrillers to action films. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. Her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. At the age of seven, her interest in acting had increased. She started to audition for commercials. Following a short period her studies began at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the years following, the Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. She made her debut as an actress on film in North (1994) aged nine. She was just eight when she appeared with Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson starred next on screen in Just Cause (1995), after which she made her debut by starring in Manny & Lo - a tale about two sisters who are orphans that get away. Then, she was awarded critical praise for portraying the role of a teenager who suffered an accident that resulted in her being with a blemish as she appeared in The Horse Whisperer (1998). She gained more attention in Ghost World (2002) as the self-deprecating outcast Rebecca. Renee Felice Smith started her professional career in entertainment at a young age. Smith was drawn to acting when she was a little girl. Smith was offered her first gig as an actor when she was 6 years old, with the help of her parents. Smith was in a television commercial for Dannon yogurt. She decided, like many actresses who are just beginning to get their feet wet, she would work on her abilities in the theatre. Additionally, she was involved in various initiatives across the USA and Canada, but Wildflower was her debut on stage performance. She studied at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
