Scarlett Johansson is an American singer and actress who was born in the city of New York, in the United States on the 22nd of November in 1984. Her performances have earned her acclaim across a wide variety of genres, including historical drama or thrillers, as well as action films. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. She and her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. As a young girl of just 7 year old, she started casting for commercials on television. In a brief time span beginning her study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Later on, the Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. When she was eight, she appeared alongside Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her first film appearance as Rob Reiner's North (1994). Smith's parents supported her in finding her first stage role when she was just six. It was the Dannon yogurt commercial. As many new actresses, she chose to develop her talents in the theatre. She took part in different projects within the USA as she made her stage debut. Her education was at Stonestreet Studios, the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
